Classic/Antique Car Repair: Harmonic Balancer, 1963 buick riviera, buick riviera

Question
1963 Buick Riviera 401 Nailhead. Harmonic Balancer flew off while I was driving down the road. Had the Balancer rebuilt. Purchased bolt from a company. I have been told I need to tighten to 80 FT-Pounds. I have also been told 150-200 FT-Pounds.  The main problem I am having is I have tightened it till the crankshaft turns. What is the required torque for that bolt, and how do I tighten it without the crankshaft spinning?

Answer
Just from experience, I would say it is the higher number, but I would call Buick and get the exact spec.

You will need to chock the engine. I always blocked the tooth on the flywheel with a large screw driver.

I also strongly suggest locktite on the new bolt threads. Vibration is the enemy here, so a lock washer has its limits.
