Classic/Antique Car Repair: muncie trans leak, metal shaft, gear lube

hi roger,i just bought a '71 nova,problem is the muncie 4 spd is leaking gear lube from the front end.I have been looking at breakdown drawings but i doen't see a front seal.the trans is a '65 m20 or a m21,casting # 3851325.Any help would be appreciated. thanks jeff

HEA- well there is a small thin paper gasket in back of the spine cover,  clean it off good and wipe it ir spray the area with starting fluid,this way you will not disturb the pin bearings, than put a nice circle of the blue silicone around the area where the gasket shall go than put some on the other side of the metal shaft that will touch the paper gasket, when you put the spine back on with  the 4 bolts and snug them up you will be fine.
