Question -
Roger tonight i went to put the covair in to the garage and i started it and let it run and it was just starting to get dark and i turned on the lights and poof everything went off lights and even the starter and ign went dead. No power at all. There is a small fuse box under the dash but they were only controling the heater etc. Is there a fuse in the light switch itself,or could it be a circuit breaker somewhere, it must be a breaker to shut off every thing,i have no idea where it could be located on the car. hope u can help as it is sitting out side without cover PLEASE HELP bill ps it has two carbs and the small engine
Answer - ROGER THANKS FOR THAT ANSWER, IT IS A FUSABLE LINK BUT WHERE IS IT ON THE CAR, I DONT HAVE A MASTER BOOK ON IT AND TO LOCATE IT WITHOUT A DIAGRAM IS GOING TO BE DIFFICULT. TO DAY I SPENT A LOT OF TIME LOOKING AND FOUND THAT I HAVE POWER FROM THE BATTERY AND THAT IT IS OK NO DAMAGE,ARE U ABLE TO GET HOLD OF  A DIAGRAM. HERE IN CANADA IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE GENERAL MOTORS DEALERS HERE LOOK AT ME WITH BIG BLANK LOOKS WHEN I ASK, SO I AM HOPING THAT U HAVE SOME IDEAS THAT I CAN MAKE THIS CAR ABLE TO START AGAIN. bill
BILL;
 WOW  you have one of those cars and it is still going !
I thought that the rubber band that it runs on would have been broken a long  long  time ago. I would look at the battery . if the battery did not break open or crack, etc. than check the connections and see if there is a fuse able link that could have blown. that would do it. start to check from the battery out  ok. and see if you can smell any thing burnt .

Answer
Bill;
    The fusable link  should  be right next to the pos+ term. on the battery.  it is a short wire with a built in fuse in it , on yours it should be hooked up on the pos+ term. than going to the alt. or starter motor. did you look at the starter to see if any wires were burnt or look bad.
if you must- try to run a jumper wire to see if that will do anything . and  is the battery full of power. I do not have any books on that car but I will try to find some info.
