Dodge Repair: chrysler remote radio switches steering wheel, dc voltages, steering wheel

Question
Ref: 2001 Concorde Std Stereo. The Serv.Man. says the DC voltages from the 2 switches are hard wired to the BCM, which sends out a message on PCI to radio, which adjusts accordingly. I checked continuity of both wires all the way to BCM and are ok. 5vdc is ok and no shorts to ground.
The Serv.Man. (8A-23) does not correspond to the switches I have, so something is amiss. I hate to take this in for an  expensive DRBIII scan, since I can really live without the remote function. I jury-rigged a 1.2 K-Ohm drop (Vol Up) and no change. Any ideas?

Answer
First of of all what is wrong with the switches. U have only told me what u have made an effort to do
the system is a resistive multi plex circuit. So 5v going into the switch and what ever part of the switch u press x volts comes back to the bcm and it knows by that what u want to have done.
