Question
I HAVE A 2001 CHRYSLER 300M AND HAVE BEEN VERRY HAPPY WITH IT TILL THE TCM DECIDED TO GO AND I FOUND OUT HOW LITTLE CHRYSLER IS WILLING TO DO ABOUT IT .   I TOOK IT TO GET CHECKED AND WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR ABOUT 1G .     SUPPOSEDLY THEY DON GO BAD OFTEN .  I AM WONDERING IF THIS MIGHT JUST BE A SHOR THAT THEY DID NOT DETECT.   THE CAR RUNS STROG OR SHALL I SAY LIMPS STONG THE TRANS IS FINE ITS JUST THE COMPUTER THAT IS STUPID.

Answer
The TCM is not hard to replace.  Then sell them at Auto Zone for less than $300. You can replace it your self.  Just remember TO DISCONNECT the battery for a least 5 minutes before starting any electrical repair.  You casn end up setting off the airbags if you don't.  Also, take the positive battery cable off and leave it overnight.  Sometimes this will reset everything and you save the cost of the repair.  (worth a shot).
