Ford Repair: 02 Explorer Power Windows, ford explorer xlt, fuse tester

Question
I have a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT V8 4x4, 4 door. Recently I had 2 problems happen. First, the right side front door kept thinking the door was open when closed, and closed when opened. I was able to find a faulty door jam switch and replaced it. During this time of it being broken however, the door decided it was always open and right around that same time, the power windows stopped working. I thought they were related (maybe just bad luck).

I replaced the door jam switch on the right side without any problem. Easy fix. The power windows still don't work. Everything else works on the car. Lights, radio, mirrors. So I am stumped.

I looked at the 60A fuse under the hood and it looks fine and tested it with a fuse tester. I also checked fuse #17 under the dash, but I'd assume all the other stuff would be off.

I pulled the driver side panel off and everything looks pristine, almost brand new. I checked all the connections as best as I could on the driver panel. I don't see anything.

All the windows don't work, I checked them all and checked to make sure the switch wasn't in lock position.

I am stumped!

Answer
open the driver's door, between the door and body you will see a black hose/grommet connecting the two, push the right side of the grommet into the body and slide the rubber hose away from the drivers door, you will probably need a knife/razor to cut the inside of the hose a little to access harness inside- there you find a couple of broken wires. very common concern. probably black is broke for the ground and mayber a couple other smaller ones. please keep me posted and good luck... -b-
