Ford Repair: Alignment, bf goodrich, front end alignment

Question
Hi Jeff, I have a 2002 Ford F150 Supercab 2 wheel drive. It has 83,000 miles. The tires are the original BF Goodrich. They have worn evenly and still have plenty of thread. Since they are old I am replacing. What can I expect as far as front end work? It seems any time a front end alignment is requested, a part will be replaced. I have replaced the brakes and rotors and replaced the shocks. What other additional cost can I expect?

Thanks,

John

Answer
Hi John,
It's hard to say and depends on your driving conditions. Get an alignment and have the front suspension checked. If you still have original tires then I think all your front end parts will be OK. If you feel your mechanic is trying to sell you something you don't need, take it to your FORD dealer for a second opinion.
