Ford Repair: 98 ford taurus heat problem, heater hoses, ford taurus

I have a 98 taurus. Backed flushed heater core block. If you have no settings for heat( meaning feet feace defrost or ac heater core lines nice and hot top and bottom. If you turn on switch to face and feet and just feet ac compresor comes on and also runs on defrost of course and ac settings when you you do this the top heater core line get colder blender acutuator door is working any suggestions? Please

Hello Brian, The a/c compressor is designed that way to come on any time except in floor mode only. Makes a drier heat to clean windshields better and to cut down on musk and mold. If you can answer do both heater hoses get hot or just one or none? Does the engine overheat at idle? If it does it may have a possible bad waterpump, the metal fins will corrode and come off. And at times I've seen them not overheat with a bad waterpump. But I'd guess you'll need to replace the heater core. Hope this helps Thanks Tony
