Ford Repair: 98 mercury mystque, steering column, mercury

I have a damaged ignition cylinder. The key won't turn it any longer.
How do I replace it.

Hello Rick, On an ignition cylinder the is a release on the steering column under the trim around the column, the key must be turned to the on position in order to release. If the key will not turn the only way is to drill the old ignition out and you have to be careful not to off when drilling or go to deep. Hope this helps Thanks Tony
