Ford Repair: 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis F 5.0L FI, mercury grand marquis, upper intake manifold

Question
I purchased a new PCV valve for this engine, but I can not locate the PCV valve.  Most cars I've worked on , it's right on top of the valve cover.

Answer
Hello Vince,
The PCV valve on that engine is behind the upper intake manifold, stuck in a grommet on the lower intake. It is sort of difficult to get to, and the hose is probably brittle and might break if you are not REALLY careful. If that hose breaks, you will have a huge vacuum leak that you might have to remove the upper intake to repair. Good luck, and I hope this helps! Shaun.
