Ford Repair: Fuse Box, top screws, fuse box

Question
Hello;
Can you help me with removing the fuse box in a 1998 Ford Expedition 4x4 5.4L. I have removed the cick panel and 2 top screws and 2 bottom nuts holding the box. Is there an easyer way of getting to the GEM. I'm afraid i will hurt something if i force it back and down?
Thank You............

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
REMOVAL:
Disconnect the battery ground cable. CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
Remove the steering column opening cover.
Remove the bulkhead electrical connectors from the (B) instrument panel fuse junction panel.
Remove the instrument panel fuse junction panel bolts and remove the interior fuse junction panel nuts.
Disconnect the GEM electrical connectors from the GEM.
Remove the screws and the GEM.
NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.

Hope this helps,
Erik
