Motorcycle Repair: base gaskets, gasket kit, gaskets

Hello, My 92 1200 sportster is leaking around both base gaskets.Is this something you can fix yourself and what is the best gasket kit to use.

You should be able to do yourself. You would have to remove the heads and cylinders to change the gaskets. While the cylinders are off you would have to mic the cylinders and do an inspection on them to make sure you dont need new pistons. You might be ablet o just re-ring the pistons. If you get a service manual it will take you step by step ont eh repair.
As to the gaskets. If you ask 10 people what gaskets they think are the best, you will probably get 10 different answers. I use James Gaskets in my shop. I have had good luck with them over the years and only use them
