Ford Repair: Automatic Transmision, automatic transmision, shifter move

Question
I have a 1995 Ford Taurus with about 80,000 miles on it. The car runs fine but I am unable to shift out of PARK. I am pressing on the brake as much as possible, yet it will not move into any other gear- even with hard force. What do you expect the problem to be? Is it worth towing it to a repair shop?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
Have a friend help you check to see if your brake lights are working......if not, you have a blown fues that activates the motor to let the shifter move. If the fuses are good and the lights work, I would look at the motor.
Hope this helps,
Erik
