Ford Repair: coolant problems, coolant loss, ford explorer

I have a 91 eddie b ford explorer. I was having to top up my coolant about every 2 weeks. My mechanic put in a cermic sealer and since then, my temperature is fluctuating, I can smell coolant and my lifters are making a racket going uphill. I have spent over 4000.00 in repairs and have esentially replaced all parts except radiator and engine. please help. thanx. anne

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I would suggest that you pull the cylinder heads off.......most likely one or both is cracked. I would suggest that you try to locate the coolant loss....have the system pressure tested and inspected for the leak.
