Ford Repair: My Cars EXHAUSTED!!!!, o2 sensors, crown vic

Hi Steve,I hope you can help me?.
My '89 Crown Vic has a ticking sound coming from the right front exhaust,I noticed a leak at the cat? Just in front of the H-pipe.
The garage said that my car has a 4 cat system just like the mustang?
They tried to weld the leak and said that they might be able to make a pipe and use a universal converter but there was NO guarantee that it would work.Do you know if I can find this pipe aftermarket, or is it a dealer item? Can I put headers on there instead,and will it interfere with the o2 sensors,any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

  Sure, you could put a set of headers on there.  It won't effect the O2 sensors unless they're longer than the stock pieces.  As for the pipe, I don't know of anyone in the aftermarket that make Vic - specific exhaust parts.  You might do some checking around online...but Vics were never a huge hit with the performance crowd.  Hope this helps.
