Honda Repair: 87 honda accord, dashboard lights, loose connections

key switch sometimes works and other times it does not.  Sometimes the dashboard lights up and all the sounds work but the switch will not start the car then other times the switch will not turn on even the dash lights then other times everything works fine

D, has the car ever been stolen? If so, they replaced the ignition and the assembly might loosen up with time and use. You might not be getting a positive connection as well with starting the car a million times in a lifetime. Whichever the ignition is the problem. Remove plastics surrounding the ignition and inspect for loose connections, etc. Or take to a repair shop.
