Honda Repair: stalled out 1983 Honda Accord, honda accord, 1983 honda accord

Our daughter has a 1983 Honda Accord 5-speed.  It has 220,000 mi and its been kept in immaculate shape and service.  Recently the car will stall as if someone has turned off the ignition.  When she pulls off and tries to start it, the car will crank strong but will not turn over.  After sitting for 20 mins the car will finally start...and will run for a while until it does it again.  We have taken it to several mechanics who have tried to fix it with no success.  In trying to fix it we have had the carburator and choke repaired.  None of these repairs have solved the problem.  The mechanics all say it runs great, and it never stalls for them. Any Suggestions?

The only way to isolate the problem is when it happens to see what is missing fuel or spark, then you can zero in on the fix, otherwise as you can see you can spend a lot of money for "nothing". See if you can get the mechanic to take the car for a week or two to properly diagnosis the problem.
