Honda Repair: 87 honda civic starting problems, honda civic crx, 87 honda civic

Question
I have an 87 honda civic crx si.  lately it takes awhile to get the car started.  after a few turns on the ignition it eventually starts up. I think it is the starter not getting a good connection.

Answer
Ann,
There is not too much information to go on here. I need some more information, but I will give you my opinion from the information I have available.
If the car is cranking normally, and not too slowly, then I really doubt its the starter. A week battery may make it slow to start, but most likley it is something in the carburetor. Also have you had a tune up lately? Worn spark plugs and other parts can cause a hard starting problem. Thats where I would recommend starting, with a tune up.
Good luck and thanks,
gene
