Hyundai Repair: Hyundai Tucson dies occasionally., throttle position sensor, 2005 hyundai tucson

Question
my 2005 Hyundai Tucson has, over the past several weeks, died when we are at a stop light.  We can immediately start it back up and it runs perfectly fine.  The  car does not run rough or anything to indicate a problem.  It just occasionally stops.  Hard to describe beyond that.  It has done this about 5 times over the past two weeks.

Answer
This could perhaps be an issue with the throttle position sensor.  If it reads too high a voltage, the engine control module (ECM) will not realize your foot is off the throttle, and will not attempt to idle the engine.

You should, however, check first for any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the ECM.  There are several other potential types of issues, and if there are any DTCs stored, they are likely to assist you in narrowing the issue.
