Hyundai Repair: Hyundai XG350 transmission noise, 2005 hyundai xg350, hyundai xg350

Question
I have a 2005 hyundai xg350. When you first start the car and drive at 13 miles per hour there is a small short rumbal almost like the sound of clicking a stick over a washboard. then it quits. if the car is shut off and left to rest for a few minutues and driven again it will do it again but only once. Because it is so short a noise and only happens after the car stops it has been difficult for anyone to diagnose

Answer
I suspect you may be referring to the ABS system's self test which occurs the first time the vehicle reaches a predetermined speed, sounds like a clicking/rattling/buzzing/light knocking for approximately 1/2 second.

If you're not referring to the ABS self test, I'll need a little bit more information to give me a good idea of what's ocurring.

How long after startup does the noise occur?
How long does the noise last?
Does it occur each time you turn the engine off and restart it?
Does the vehicle need to be turned off for a certain period of time before occurring again?
Why do you believe the noise to be coming from the transission?
