Question
HT
sorry to keep asking you a zillion questions..2 more here:
First: the hose coming OUT of evaporator (when facing firewall under car hood, its on RIGHT side of evaporator and attaches to ac drier..its a SUCTION HOSE..is this a low or high side hose?
also, is it necessary to replace it if it has only a few small surface crack-lines on the OUTSIDe of this ac suction hose?
thanks!

Answer
Suction hoses are low pressure.  The points of pressure change are the expansion valve (evaporator) and compressor.  Here's a handy guide to what's high and low:

Anything on the leg running from the compressor to the evaporator is low pressure.  Anything on the leg running from the compressor to the condensor to the evaporator is high pressure.

Crack lines themselves don't present an issue unless there's a leak.  Unfortunately, you probably won't be able to detect that unless you add dye to the system.  As a rule of thumb, if the cracks are only on the surface and don't extend into the rubber, then it's unlikely they'll leak.
