Hyundai Repair: Radio Issues, hyundai santa fe, antenna base

"I have a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, the radio is all static all the time on all
stations. The stereo works fine when playing a CD. What could be the issue?"


Answer
The issue is either with your antenna, cable, or radio itself.  To determine which, you'll need to check the antenna cable to be sure it's attached properly to the radio and antenna (in the left rear glass, I believe), and that it's intact everywhere between the two places.  

The last time I had this issue, I constructed an antenna from an antenna base and mast and plugged into the back of the radio to see if the problem was repaired.  You may be able to construct a similar testing apparatus with a few items from Radio Shack.
