Hyundai Repair: Squeaky noise when driving, 2003 hyundai sonata, hyundai sonata

Question
I have a 2003 Hyundai Sonata with about 38,000 miles. For the last week or so, it's been making a squeaky sound only on the left(driver)side. When I make right turns there is no squeaky sound, but when I'm driving straight or making left turns there is a continuous squeaky sound. I changed my breaks almost a year ago. What could be the problem?

Answer
It's possible this is from your brakes, especially if you only the front or only the rear done previously.  The noise you describe is indeed consistent with brake pad wear indicators.  If you can inspect your own brakes, start with that.  If not, take your car to the shop of your choice and explain to them your symptoms.  They'll let you know the source of the noise.
