Hyundai Repair: Cigarette lighter and power outlets dead, hyundai santa fe, cigarette lighter

Question
Hi, I was wondering whether you could help me. I own a Hyundai Santa Fe 2005, 2.7l (I think that's the engine size, it's definitely NOT the 3.5). Recently I've noticed that my cigarette lighter and subsequently the power outlet in the dashboard and the power outlet in the trunk are not working. I'm suspicious that a fuse has gone but I don't know where to find the one specific to the outlets . I've checked the visible fuses under the hood, but would rather know that I'm looking at the right one rather than guessing. If it's not a fuse do you have any idea what could cause this? Everything else seems to be working fine.

Thanks for any help that you can offer,

Jason.

Answer
You're interested in fuses #1 and #3 in the dash fuse box.  It's located behind the cover at the bottom of the left side of the dash.  Fuse #1 is the 20A fuse at the bottom left and controls the front outlet and lighter, and fuse #3 is the 15A fuse two to the right of that and controls the rear outlet.

If both fuses are blown, you should immediately suspect that there's a problem with whatever you've been plugging into the power outlet.  The device either draws too much current (more than 15A), or has a problem.
