Hey, Daniel.  I saw the information you put in my review comments section.  The defogger switch is one that uses momentary contact.  It should only need to be depressed hard enough that it reaches the end of it's stroke.  If you need to depress it hard at all, it's likely that the contact in the switch is going bad and you'll eventually need a new switch.

The fact that the lamp doesn't come on indicates that the ETACM (electronic time and alarm control module) is not turning on the defogger.

Start with checking the defogger fuse.  It'll be in the interior fuse box, should be about 30A, and is typically labeled something similar to "rear heated."

If the fuse is good, check the voltage across your battery when the car is running.  It should be about 14V.  If it's between 12 and 12.8V, your alternator is not working properly, and the ETACM isn't turning on the defogger because it thinks the vehicle is not running.
