Hyundai Repair: Clutch 2001 accent, hydraulic pump, clutch

My daughter has a 2001 Accent 1.6 engine size that has a clutch problem. The mechanic says that the clutch is worn but there is also a problem with where the hydraulic pump mounts to the firewall . He says it move when you press the pedal . Is this common or absurd?

It's neither common-- I've never heard of it-- nor absurd.  It's possible that the studs may have separated from the firewall or the nuts may not be tight.  In any event, it's important to fix that as well if your clutch is to operate properly and not wear out prematurely.
