Isuzu Repair: 2001 Trooper Headlight Replacement, retaining ring, halogens

One of those fun everything going wrong at once has ended with a simple headlight replacement.  However, after buying some 55watt halogens, I cannot remove the old bulbs.  First did I buy the wrong bulb and second how do I get the old bulb out of there?

You have to push down on the electrical connecter and slowly and carefully pull it out. Then you unscrew the retaining ring(should be black) counterclockwise 1/4 of a turn and then you should be able to pull the bulb out. Are the bulbs just corroded in there or was this what you were asking for?
