Isuzu Repair: 1999 amigo push button 4wd, dash light, light flashes

Hi, my 1999 v6 auto Amigo's push button 4wd does not work.  I recently had the starter replaced, and since then it's done two things.  One, the 4wd was engaged with the steady  "4wd engaged" light on the dash.  When i hit the button to disengage, it would disengage but the light would continue blinking.  It would go back into 4wd, no problem.  Now, one day it started doing the opposite...the light is now off and 4wd disengaged, but when I press button to engage, i hear a click, and the dash light flashes but I don't believe the 4wd is engaging.  Help!  Thanks, Rob

Hello Rob. Well, it could be a couple of things. A vacuum controlled 4wd system might have a leak or a hose was disconnected and never reconnected, or your 4wd solenoid is bad. I would try these first and also check to see if you have voltage going to and from the button ok? Any more problems let me know.
