Isuzu Repair: Honda passport difficulty shifting to park, neutral safety switch, honda passport

Question
Two days ago I had the starter replaced on my 2001 Honda passport.  Last night I could not remove my keys from the ignition while the transmission was engaged in "park".  I had to push the shift slightly to the right to fully engage into park and then was able to engage in the "lock" mode to remove the key.  Is there a relationship between the work required to put in the new starter and any cables or sensors related to the transmission?  The transmission was fully replaced two years ago so I do not believe that it should be having problems yet.  I was informed that my particular model is difficult to replace the starter for its location.

Answer
Hello Mary, well, it sounds like a neutral starter switch. neutral safety switch, low fluid, or an inhibitor switch. Dealing with the starter, it is not at all hard to replace, mine took about half an hour to replace. and there are only a few cables you have to deal with.
