Land Rover Repair: CODES TO RADIO, radio chassis, radio code

MY SON HAS A USED 1996 LANDROVER DISCOVERY V8I
vin# saljy1244ta531129. WE NEED THE CODE TO THE RADIO???

Answer
You need to call the dealer with the last 8 numbers of your VIN and they can give you the code.  Only the dealer has these codes.  If the code doesn't work, you need to remove the radio and take the serial number from the radio chassis.  Call the dealer back with this number.

If the radio code has been entered too many times, the radio and ignition need to be left on for one hour before re-entering the code.
