Land Rover Repair: ABS brake light, hub assembly, abs sensor

Question
I have a 1998 Discovery with the ABS light on all the time.  I have replaced the pads but not the rotors or other hardware.  On a previous question, you mentioned an ABS ring.  Can this be purchased separately or should it be bought with a brake kit and all parts replaced?  Thanks for the help.

Answer
Hi Steve,

if you are having trouble with your ABS and the fault light is on, you can ask the good people at Advance auto to read off the error code that triggered the ABS fault.  They perform this service free of charge at most locations.

The rear brake disc has an ABS sensor ring located on the inside of the disc. In order to replace this, you would have to remove the entire hub assembly and remove the rear rotors.  You can buy this sensor ring without a kit from your dealer.

Best of luck,
