Land Rover Repair: Door locks wont unlock all the way, tailgate locks, door locks

1995 Landrover Discovery, over the last few months first the driver side back, then driver side front, now tailgate locks are not unlocking all the way either with the remote or with a key. Have to turn the key again to unlock the door all the way. What is happening? How to fix it?

Answer
On an older Discovery the problem is probably lack of lubrication.  You may be able to spray penetrating oil in via the latch, but it will be better if you remove the door panels.  Get everything working smoothly and freely and you'll probably be OK.  You may need to change one latch, but probably the rest will oil up OK.
