Land Rover Repair: 2000 LR Disco II - Engine BIG problem, 2 different things, aluminum block

Even now, I am able to start the engine for few minutes before it starts to overheat, does it mean that I have a hope?

Answer
starting and running right are 2 different things.  Don't start it again, and start a rebuild before you make it worse.

Engines are outside of my area of expertise, but the LR aluminum block does not tolerate overheating, and running with water in the oil is not good for any engine.
