Question
Yes I have a 1999 rANGE rOVER 4.0se. The information on the instrument cluster says transmission neutral.  If you put the car in reverse or drive it will not move.  If you put the vehicle in park it makes a loud clicking sound maybe grinding like when you try to put a normal 4wd in low.  Do you know what could be causing this?  Also all the lights where you adjust the suspension are on.  They will flash but that is all.  Thank you for your help.  Justin

Answer
If you are stuck far from home you can unscrew the electric range change motor from the rear of the transfer case and manually wind it to high or low range.  That will get you home.

For a permanent repair you will need a workshop with the special Land Rover test gear to talk to the controller.
