Land Rover Repair: p38 gear ratio switch, manual gearbox, john robison

i own a 1995 p38 2.5TD range rover with manual gearbox. On a recent day out i switched the gearbox into low ratio and now it wont let me switch it back. When i try the message center says select neutral even though i am in neutral and the light on the switch flashes. any ideas.

The transfer case is shifted by means of a motor on the side of the transfer case.  If you are mechanically inclined you can remove the motor and manually spin the shaft to swithc from low to high range.

If you switch it manually make sure you move it all the way (by feel) ann unplug the cable.  Seek workshop assistance as soon as possible - you'll need a shop with an Autologic or T4 system to diagnose it.
