Land Rover Repair: 2003 range rover transmission problem, wheel hubs, dsee

While on the freeway my range rover just lost power. when we press the gas the transmission had a grinding sound.When I pulled over the suv started fine but when it to drive the grind began. No warning or any thing.What do you think it could be.

Answer
You could have a failure in either the front or rear differential, the transmission or transfer case, or the wheel hubs.

Try driving slowly in a parking lot while someone walks along side to see where the noise comes from.  Try putting it on a lift and running it an dsee if you can find the noise that way.
