Land Rover Repair: sputtering problem, luck john, distributor cap

Question
drove 10 hrs in the rain last night and vehicle is sputtering.  Replaced the spark plugs and waiting for ignition wires to arrive. Anything you can tell me ? driving from MA to Utah, stuck in PA.  Discovery 95, Alternator replaced recently.

Answer
My suggestions would be:

1) remove all electrical connections and blow clear with air, then spray with WD40, then pack with dielectric grease and assemble.  This applies to the fuel injection wiring and the plug wires.

2) change the plugs if you have been driving it sputtering.  Use Champion rn12yc

3) Remove the distributor cap and make sure the inside and outside are clean and dry.

4) Don't drive the car when sputtering - it will melt your catalysts and may start a fire.
