Lexus Repair: Lexus GS300 Oil leak, lexus gs300, oil trail

Question
Have a 2002 GS-300 with an oil leak on the driver's side of the engine. At first I thought it was leaking at the oil filter since the oil had not been changed for a while and you could see the oil trail from the filter along the side of the block. While changing the oil and filter I did notice the filter was not on real tight. This further reinforced my thinking that the leak was at the filter. Now that oil and filter have been replaced, I still have the leak. It seems to be originating from somewhere around the head. It's so damned hard to see I can't tell where the source of the leak is. The car has been real good and never in the shop for anything. Just turned 50,000 miles. Any ideas how I can find where the leak is coming from?

Thanks.

Answer
Hello Craig,
What kind of oil filter are you using? I would strongly advised you to use the lexus filter.  We haven't seen many 2jz-ge leaks around that area. Again, Make sure you have a lexus filter. Inspect your cam seals, We had 2 cam seals fail at 25k miles. Thank you.
