Lincoln/Mercury Repair: 1995 mercury cougar safety, cougar safety, mercury cougar

Question
I do a lot of high speed interstate driving.
My 95 Cougar with over 115,000 miles on it still has original transmission and timing chain.  Should I be doing preventive maintenance/replacement on these components in the
interest of safety??  I have worries about system
failure at high speed.

Thanks,
Todd

Answer
hello todd
if the car runs good and no problems with the motor yea i would have the timeing changed and it would be good for a another 115,000 and as far as tranny i would have it serived and after that every 50,000 and the car would last you for ever with tune ups and oil changes pete
