Mazda Repair: tranny, mazda 626, transmission filter

Hi Josh, How do you change the transmission filter on a 94 Mazda 626, 4cylinder. the trans i believe is located on the side.

yes it is mounted on the side you have to remove the lower pan just loosen the bolts and remove the back bolts and some of the bolts on both sides done just drop the whole pan it'll make a mess. once the fuild is all drained remove the pan and look inside you'll see the filter.  if you buy a tranny filter kit it'll come with everything you need other then tools and fuild of course.  make sure to tighten to the right specs or you'll pinch the gasket and it'll leak.

and always clean the gasket surfice you can buy a tool that makes it easy don't use your pocket knife or anything like that
