Mazda Repair: rear disc brakes, rear disc brakes, set screw

Question
2001 protge, how do i get the piston to return into the caliper on the rear disk brake? i have tryed a "C" clamp to press it in but it wont go. is there a special tool?

Answer
Not my particular area of expertise but, most Mazda rear brake systems have an access plug on the back side of the caliper.  Underneath you should find a set screw that should require an allen head tool to to withdraw the piston.  Once new pads are installed the piston needs to be set back in until the contact the rotor then backed off 1/3 of a turn for adjustment.  A C-clamp on these type calipers WILL break them beyond repair.  If you forced anything you will need to replace the caliper as if it cracked internally it will fail to safely operate.
