you have given the wrong answer to that person,  the line to the injectors have nothing to do with getting fuel to the inline filter. because the primer pump do not pump to the injectors, when he cannot get fuel to the filter by pumping the primer pump, then the main tank screen is plugged up with algae. or his primer pump is no good (which is rare).
