MG Car Repair: MGB voltage to coil?, fuse box, mgbgt

Question
Hi, working on a 73 MGBGT which had been stored for 8 years! New coil provided a spark and a quick clean up of the fuel pump points got that pumping again. Engine started and sounded ok. The clutch appears to have seized and whilst trying to jolt the clutch free I have lost my spark? I now have no voltage to the coil, any ideas would be great thanks. Andy

Answer
Between the ignition switch and the coil, the wire goes via two bullet connector blocks.  These often cause problems especially after a long period of storage.

1) From the back of the ignition switch, follow the cable for about 10 inches.  It should terminate in a bunch of black plastic-coated connectors.  One of them will have 3 or 4 white wires going into it.  Pull all 4 wires and check inside the connector for rust or corrosion.  They are cheap, so if in doubt, replace the connector block and clean all the bullets.

2) Under the bonnet (hood) you will find another bunch of connectors between the fuse box and the heater box.  Look for the one with 3 white wires going into it.  Same treatment.

If this doesn't answer the problem, I need to know if the fuel pump is still working, and if the wiper motor is still working.
