The flasher unit on an MGB is rated in Watts.  
It operates 2 x 21 Watt bulbs, plus a 3 Watt dashboard light.
Therefore it is rated at 45 Watts.  

To get the Amps, just divide the watts by the voltage.
45 Watts divided by 12 volts gives you 3.75 Amps.

You don't state what car you have.  Many cars use the same flasher unit to operate the hazard warning lights.  This unit takes twice the current and is rated at twice the wattage.
