Mitsubishi Repair: mitsubishi evo 6 blowing smoke and stuttering, air fuel ratio, mitsubishi evo 6

Question
1999 Lancer evolution 6 GSR is blowing smoke and stuttering while accelerating at full throttle, does not stutter right after start but after 5 or 10 min it starts this stutter while accelerating, seem to be a full throttle.

Answer
Jared,
Your engine is running rich; too much fuel compared to the amount of air entering.  You may not see this for a few minutes because until your engine reaches normal operating temperatures, your car's computer does not try to regulate the air/fuel ratio (for the most part).  Once the computer takes over, there is some component or sensor that is telling the computer to supply more fuel, though it doesn't need it.  If you have no check engine light on, look for a clogged air filter or air intake component.  Make sure the throttle body assembly is not damaged and is operating properly.
Good luck!
