Mitsubishi Repair: TS Mitsubishi Magno (Diamante US), ts mitsubishi magna, radiator hose

Question
I own a 1994 TS Mitsubishi Magna. Yesterday the radiator hose split and the car let our a whoft of smoke ans steam (mainly Steam). I had the radiator hose replaced that day and realised after getting car home, topping up with water and coolant that the cooling fans were not working. I read that somewhere that sometimes the cooling fans dont kick in until halfway between H & C, so I tested this theory only to find that once the temperature was reached, the fans still hadn't kicked in and there was a lot of steam coming off the engine. Could this be that the thermostat has gone on the engine or could there be something else that could be making this happen.

Answer
Sam: In with the engine with the hood open there is three or maybe only two boxes, black in color and on the tops tell what is in each one. I would say that the fan relay is out, when you find which box has that relay and check to see if it is good. Or if it is bad, then replace it, but take the neg cable off the battery before putting in the new relay or you will have to get another relay. Once you put in the new relay then replace the cable and the fans should start. Other wise check to see if the wiring is good sometimes a wire will come loose or break. God bless: Linda
