Mitsubishi Repair: troubleshoot 03 mits. eclipse GT, air leaks, actron

Question
Cylinder 2 misfire..... replaced number 2 injector.  all spark plugs and wires.   recently replaced fuel pump...  still have cylinder 2 misfire and actron diagnostic only displays cylinder 2 misfire.... i have headers on this eclipse.....whats wrong with my baby.....why the misfire? what all problems would cause this cylinder 2 misfire? What sensors?  Help

Answer
Jessica: Get your baby coded, another words see what the computer is doing with this. The computer controls everything in that car, if the car is missfiring then the computer is either causing it or letting it happen. So code that computer. Got an AutoZone close by? They will control your car for free and that should lead you to your problems. God bless: Lin

Jessica: Sorry but you will have to put the car into a shop to find out which sensor might be causing this. But then I got to thinking here are some ideas what might be causing the misfire,  worn or damged stark plugs, bad stark plug wires, weak coil, dirty, clogged or inoperative fuel injector, air leaks, low fuel pressure due to weak fuel pump, restricted filter or leak pressure regulator. There a lot of different sensor in that car of your. Sure you put the right stark plugs for the car? Sure the wires are new and good. You could check those at night, to see if you might have stark knocking around the engine from a bad wire. I know you bought them new but sometimes you can get a bad wire or even a bad stark plug. I wish I could help you more with the sensors but there are all kinds of those inside a engine. And you surely don't want to go changing sensors till you find the right one as that would be costly. So I would take the car to a shop or dealership so they can find the problem for you. God bless: Linda
