Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi Montero Sport 1999, mitsubishi montero sport, cruise control system

Question
I recently had a new alternator put into my car. About a week later I noticed that the Cruise Control was not working. The light comes on but it will not engage. What might be the problem? Could they be connected?

Answer
Robb: Don't think the alternator and the crusis control are together. But rather both just happen to go out at the same time. Here are some things to check to fix that cruise control... servo motor, clutch switch, brake light switch,  control switches, relay  and then there are vacuum hoses too. But I would take the car to either a dealer or a shop as the complexity of the cruise control system and the special tools requirted it would be the best. But if you want to do this yourself go out and buy a repair manual for your car. Most parts stores have them and they cost around $20.00 are well worth the money. That would help you with where to look and what to be looking for.  Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
