Mitsubishi Repair: 3l v6 lebaron 95 wont stay started, holy cow, gas filter

Question
QUESTION: My lebaron will turn over but doesn't want to start it rev once then dies out like it not getting any fuel it has a 3L V6 engine in it I have recently change the starter on it the oil is good there is gas in the gas filter is brand new
it has been sitting for about half a year in the garage can U help?

ANSWER: Tom: You are going to have to remove that gas and put in new. As gas breaks down and so the car is not going to start on that fuel. I would do a good tune up too, new stark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Sitting for a year and a half; holy cow the car is not just going to start without some work on your part. Starter, oil and fuel filter is not going to cut. New fuel, tune up and some care; she should start and run really good. Linda

QUESTION: Thanks for the answer I will do just that,  however the gas is new it was not bone dry but I put about 2 gallons
of gas in there. Would you think it would have anything to
do with the fuel pump?

Answer
Tom: The car was not bone dry you said, so you put the new gas in with the new. That old gas is really nasty but still it could be that fuel pump. You can have that tested to make sure it is putting out enough fuel for the car to run. If the fuel pump sat in that old gas for a 1 1/2 years, the fuel pump is most likely bad. I hope this helps and good luck! Linda
