Mitsubishi Repair: How to adjust fuel-lid release?, fuel tank, pajero

Question
Hi, I have a Pajero (Aust 1998 NL model) and the cord to the fuel-lid has possibly stretched, and doesn't reliably open the fuel tank any more.  Needless to say this is a little distressing. Is this adjustable by the owner, to shorten it slightly so that the release handle travel is in range again?

Answer
Paul: I would say that you might have to replace the whole cord, if it has stretched. I would check with a shop and see if they might help you. Other wise find where the cord end is, like the end in the car, by its switch. You might be able to shorten it a bit and rehook it up to the switch there. Or else have a shop look at it. I sure can understand what you mean about it being a little distressing, if you can not get the door open to get fuel. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
